Comic-Con 2011: Vyxsin & Kynt from The Amazing Race

July 22, 2012 by Brandie Leave a Comment

Within 5 minutes of our first year at Comic-Con, we had our first sighting of someone we’ve seen on TV: Vyxsin & Kynt from The Amazing Race. Right in that moment, we realize how easy it is for fans to see their favorite celebrity, artists, and more at Comic-Con.

Comic-Con 2011 - Vyxsin & Kynt from The Amazing Race

It was our first day of our first time at Comic-Con in San Diego, CA. We had just parked in the parking garage, which was located directly under the convention center. Rather than taking the elevator up, we walked up one flight of stairs where we found ourselves immediately in the middle of crowds. As I looked around to make sure all the kids were accounted for, Courtney noticed the pink hair on a woman and said to Noelle, “that looks like the girl on the Amazing Race show”.

Noelle looked and yep, sure enough, it was Vyxsin and Kynt (Kent). They are former contestants on The Amazing Race, a reality show on CBS where contestants race around the world, competing in various challenges.

Noelle got the attention of the rest of us and I immediately shot a few photos of them. They were on their way through the crowds too, trying to get to their autograph signing booth upstairs. They stopped to let everyone take photos of them, saying “hello” and “thank you” to various people greeted them or gave them compliments.

It was fun seeing them because while we knew that we could have celebrity sightings at Comic-con, we didn’t expect it to happen within 5 minutes of arriving on our first day! Our family is also Amazing Race fans, so that made it really cool for us. We didn’t watch the first season that Vyxsin and Kynt were on The Amazing Race (season 12), but we did watch them in season 18. They were described as the “dating goths” from Louisville, KY and I found them to be some of the most entertaining & unique contestants on The Amazing Race. Yeah, I know this isn’t the biggest celebrity sighting, but it was still a memorable moment for us — especially since it happened so quickly after arriving.

Who was your first celebrity sighting at Comic-Con??
